Hi Harald,

Sorry for bothering you with a "stupid" mistake. I was running PHP4. I have switched to PHP5 and the install is going smoothly!
Many thanks.

Paul

Hi Harald, I'm new in Oscommerce forums.
First, sorry about my english.
I have the same problem, and I have PHP4. I know this version don't work in PHP4, but ¿are there some code to pass this problem?
I find some code in Magento, and the problem with the versions php4 y php5 is fixed, but I don't know if in oscommerce can I use some code in .htaccess to make run the installation even in php4.
Thank you for your response.
And... sorry again for my bad english, I hope you understand me.
Regards,
Silvia

I was trying to play with this on my 1and1.com account... my heart sank when I got the error and googled it...

So I googled my host providor and php5... simple fix... if your host has php5 installed just not enabled for you visit this site
