I'm new to oscommerce and to php for that matter. I have a moderate background in ASP but am trying to ween myself from Microsucks and stick to open source. I like what I see so far with oscommerce but I'm confused on how the add to cart part works. I've tried looking in the database after adding some of the default products and I don't see anything in the basket tables? Is this handled through sessions or cookies or something or am I missing a manual somewhere that talks about this?

you can do it through sessions OR cookies.. I use cookies on my site, but MOST use sessions.
what are you trying to do? Unless you are doing something very involved, then most really dont NEED that info..
