Customer sent an email inquirying if we ship to Australia? When we responded that we did he wanted an atypical large amount of the same collectible. He waqnted his shipper to pick up than got a email bill looks good but his agent won't take or is able to process a credit card. He wanted us to send $500 by western union to his buyer and he would build in this plus an extra 100 to purchase price. My wife says this stinks to complicated. Do you Think this is a scam? Didn't crab when i jacked up price and never talked about his supposed shop. Everything on hold

Thanks
Greg

I have all my emails set up that if theres the words 'western union' either in the subject or the email body, it will get deleted from email server. end of story.
Ken

there is a will there is a way.

there is a simple thing there is a simple way.

there is a (seemingly) complicated thing there may still be a simple way.

SIMPLICITY

You will also find a majortiy of these scammers are looking for a reply of some sort to prove that it is a manned/active email address and somethings they will have an attachment linked.

I have all my email accounts set up to reject all emails with western union included and if attachments are attached, all these are deleted without reaching my inboxes.

we have gotten this one a fair bit recently:

Quote

Hello, i am Matthew Martins and i will like to order for some goods from your
store but before we an proceed i will like to ask the following questions.

Do You Ship Australia?

Do You Do Mail Order?

Do You Accept Credit Card.

I await your urgent response so we can proceed.

Matthew Martins

normally the email also asks what our website addy is... stupid thing is that we are in australia, which is incredibly obvious from our website, and all contact info, so it is obvious to us that it's a scam. the english is getting better though...

These people should be publicly executed.

we get these all the time ... we assume a scam. we only accept orders through the online store or phone. if someone doesn't ask a specific question about a product/policy, we don't respond.

This is a well known scam - usually used on eBay for goods to African countries:

1. Bid on the item ridiculously highly (in your case, send a mail asking the owner)

2. Pretend that you need to arrange shipping

3. Tell seller that he will pay via the shipper and pmoney will be released once shipper has product(s)

4. Send an email that looks like a payment (PayPal or Western Union). This is also a phishing mail in many cases.
The mail says that you have received payment.

5. You send good - nothing else happens. No money. No refund and the email address that you were corresponding with is disconnected.

Classic - don't fall for it.

Is posting your url here (against the forum rules) your way of saying that you are a scammer?
