Do product reviews for the products on my site need to come from my customers? I need to have reviews listed for my products but only one customer has left one review.

I'm sort of in a catch 22 if I don't have reviews. No customers = no reviews, but no reviews = no customers.

Even if it is legal, making up a fake review is not something I would do.

Email your customers 5 days after you set their order to complete asking for them to either review the product they purchased or write a testimonial about your service. If they still don't bite, offer a decent prize for the best review written that week/month to entice people to give more in-depth reviews.

Please don't do your own reviews, as it would be easy to tell that the store owner has just wrote 15 reviews within 10 minutes all with the same style. One alternative is that if your products have been reviewed by a magazine or website, try putting the conclusion of the review along with the appropriate rating as long as you quote the source of the article and provide a link to the review. Do this as the Admin of the website to show people you are the one doing the review.

It may take some time but don't be too put off by the lack of reviews. I find only about 5-10% of my customers leave a review.

Good idea,i think i will do like this,or i would give some discount to those leave the reviews when they buy at my store next time .
