Hi all -
What can I do? I was with this hosting company and i hated their service, so i decided to switch hosting companies. As soon as i informed my previous host i was switching, they got mad and held on to my files. The worst is that they made me pay cancellation fees for terminating my contract before my time was up. I am so mad at the hosting company and I am looking for every ways to get back at them....plus they still have my files too.
They won't release the files, so my site can't even go live yet on my new server.

That's the nature of a contract.
I imagine when you pay them the amount you are contracted to pay they will release your files.

I really didn't have a problem with paying the cancellation fees. I paid it and he still has refused to release my files. What do I do?

it is his legal obligation to release your files as far as I know.

Unless, under their contract, it was strictly a "website with hosting" deal. I've seen some companies that provide pre-built sites for drop-shippers in particular where they provide the domain, the hosting, the site and the drop-shipping. They don't provide FTP access, and only a stripped down web hosting control panel (if you get one at all) so you can never get the files.
