Hi all,

I have recently launched My Website

Any feedback would be great, as this online retailing is quite new to me.

Thanks in advance

looks very good.
i like the blue. could use an add-on for thumbnails and more images.
also would look better if you create a set of buttons with the same blue color as your site's theme.

Quick one:

- Replace your credit card images above the logo w/something useful. Good place to put some type of a slogan/motto. Something like "Numero Uno in the Industry for the past two years" or "Best Deals on the Web" or "Do YOU know what your wife/husband is doing when you're away"? or even move your "As easy as 123" to the left.  Remember, you have about 8 secs to catch customer's attention. Do some googling on "Designing Landing Pages"

Thanks chaps for you input,

The credit card font removal is something I wanted to do a while ago, my web man is on it now so it should disappear in a few days or so.

I'm also having some new products scrolling down in a box to jazz it all up a little bit.

Keep em coming

Cheers

Just gone to your site and first thoughts are it is a mess. I guess it is because there is just to much there. Took me more than 8 secs to work out what was what.

As a prospective purchaser do I care about

Welcome to 123CCTV Ltd trading as 123CCTV.co.uk

If you have been going since feb 07, see footer it is about time to get rid of

NOW OPEN!

You could replace those lines with

Welcome to 123 CCTV for the best UK deals in CCTV...

Which would move things up and make them visible.

What would the site look like if the free advice and free delivery boxes were both at the top of the respective columns. (Balance up the colours)

Also I can only see the top half of the first line of promoted  products on a portable screen.

Don't think this wording encourages me to buy

Unrivalled products at unbelievable prices!!! We have CCTV systems that suits all needs and budgets - For DIY & Trade. CCTV deals at unbeatable prices! Order online and save £££s
Shops : Schools : Hospitals : Clubs : Pubs : Restaurants : Offices : Nursery : Warehouse : Commercial Units and all other premises where CCTV surveillance is required. We supply for DIY, Security Trade, Electrical Trade, Commercial Business - Whatever your requirements we have what you need - and should you need it - we even provide a fully qualified professional Installation service.
123 CCTV Ltd offer customers unrivalled products at unbeatable prices!

If you need it for ranking reasons move it to the bottom of the page.

Not sure you need the footer blue line with hits and date info on any page, that doesn't encourage me to buy. Would be more impressed with a well written about us page. e.g. We strive to provide unrivalled service since 2004 and have had a web presence since feb 07 .......

Try searching for ptz, stupid I know but the sort of things people do.

Nice colours and theme

Geoffrey,

Thanks for your honest opinion of my site,

I have a chap who does the front page for me, as I write all the descriptions and add the products myself.
Unfortunately he holds the reins on the front page.

He is normally very good with telling us what we should and shouldn't do, but I think I need more input and have taken your advice and will put it forward, as customers need be happy enough with the front page to carry on through!

Thanks again and please keep em coming

Paul

Sorry, my look this AM did not show that.

One things that bugs me, and a lot of stores do it, Contact Us requires that I create an account. If I have a quick question I will not go through the hassle of creating an account.

Looks good so far, but definitely more work is needed. I think the text is sort of "all over the place" now. You need to work on the formatting and positioning of the text.

Good attempt albeit still in osc stock look & feel, which may not be a problem depending on your taste. Here's another oneselling similar products (demo only) - a complete break off from the stock template, which you may want to have a look.

I'm actually looking for a new DVR plus a few cameras ...
"Unrivalled products at unbelievable prices!"

Unfortunately your prices are 'unbelievably' more expensive than other places.
Shame as I would have possibly brought from you as I like to help fellow OSC users.

Yes but you forgot the 'Unrivalled products' bit, theres alot of crap out there, and you pay for what you get.

Good luck

Exactly, that's why I always buy this kind of products from Henry's in Edgeware Road.
Quality, good price and great service.

I like the website. How much money do you spend to hire the Artwyse?  The whole site looks neat!

although i've made a digital cctv shop out of osc for a client i paid little notice to the prices because that's not my business. but if i were to run an online shop the first thing would be to make sure my price for the SAME products has to be lower (after taking into account delivery cost) than high street shops, unless my products are unique and no one else has them. i could be wrong...

Paul, no need to PM me saying that I was filling this thread with sarcastic comments. I merely pointed out that if I could have got what I am looking for from you, for less, I would have purchased from you, simply because I like to support fellow OSC users.
Unfortunately I am not rich and need to watch the pennies, like everyone else, so I had to go for a place that I know, trust and can get the items cheaper.

Sorry if you feel annoyed about that.
