I live in the UK (england, derbyshire, ilkeston)
I have just set up my OsCommerce store, do I need to register my businesses name? (Vier Libido) If so, how and where do register it?

Your will need to register your company and the name goes with it, they will also check if that name is already taken.
Try this link: http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/index.shtml
Best thing to do is give them a call and ask them what you need to do, as i found the site a bit of a minefield of information...

if you're a "one man band" or a partnership etc etc... you don't need to do much at all.
but you do need to register as self employed. they'll ask you you're business details.
otherwise, you dont have a "business name" as such. you have a "fictional name" that you use freely, but must publish your "legal business name" somewhere on every page (including printed documents).
the "legal business name" is, in the case of partnerships and sole traders, the surnames of the owners.

tells you all you need to know.
