Big Session Problem

Recommended Posts

I tried changing the View Order text link to say Order Info (never could find where that text to change it is) and something happened wrong because it wasn't using the language files whatsoever (only on that page though). So I reinstalled account_history.php and I now get this message:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare tep_session_start() (previously declared in /home/llphotog/public_html/portfolio/includes/functions/sessions.php:67) in /home/llphotog/public_html/portfolio/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 66

It's driving me nuts ladies and gentlement - I sincerely dont' have a clue. I thought it was a session problem so I rebooted and cleared out my cookie cache - didn't fix it. Does anyone out there have any idea what this problem is and how to fix it?

I sincerely appreciate any help that comes my way! I've been racking my brain for three hours with nothing to show for it so now I need some higher-techie help!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

:( I'm not of much help here. When i had hte same problem a few weeks ago I posted on the forum and no one ever replied so i had to reinstall the whole thing. Just wanted to warn you cuz this problem doesn't seem to be one that most in this community know a solution for so don't hold your breathe. My suggestion is to do a reinstall now before you waste anymore time waiting for help, no one in oscommerce seems to know how to solve this one. But hey good luck!

Thanks alot Nael! I went through account_history.php where the error comes up and I can't find a single duplicate. Could you give me a bit more guidance as to whether I need to look in account_history.php (the page that has the error) or another one because I'm stuck. I even uploaded an older version of that page and it still shows the same problem. So what did I do wrong here?!

Nael you are a lifesaver!

Depending on your version, it might be just a bug. I was researching this via php.net bug database which can answer most problems...

http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=17720

And how are you storing your sessions, a flat file or database? And when passing through the variables....

I'll do more research but I'm on dial up and I dont check that often..

Thanks Nael, I doubt it's just a bug as this problem never happened before but i'm using version 4.2.2 and from what i've read at the bug report it doesn't affect that version. As for storing the variables, I left that field blank so it's choosing the default I suppose - I have no idea what the default is.

Does anyone out there have any other ideas - I'm really desperate and I didn't think this would be such a problem. PLEASE help me out if you can, I'm really stuck right now!

Ian you are a genius - I cannot believe that I missed that for so long! How embarassing! But thank you very much.

Now that the page does work it leaves me with one more problem.. when it loads and after I replaced the language files properly and double-checked them! It loads as if it's not using the language files. Look like this:

TEXT_ORDER_NUMBER 4 TEXT_ORDER_STATUS Paypal Processing

TEXT_ORDER_DATE Thursday 10 October, 2002

TEXT_ORDER_SHIPPED_TO Todd Moore TEXT_ORDER_PRODUCTS 1

TEXT_ORDER_COST $6.95 TEXT_VIEW_ORDER

Pretty strange - the files are correct as far as I can tell (which as we've already proven, I do miss things!) so does anyone have any ideas on this one. It's the very last thing that I'm having trouble with and then I'm outta your collective hair.

My special thanks go out to Nael and Ian C. Wilson - I appreciate you both taking your time to help me out, I sincerely needed it and you came through and I appreciate it greatly!
