Hello everyone,

I was hoping to generate a discussion from people who already have a site, that gets a decent number of clicks onto it, and ask them to share with others the steps they took when either setting up your site or how you went about getting your pages listed, (with generating traffic to your website in mind) and what u found to be most benifical.


Also which contributions have you used that have been useful for getting either listed, indexed or searchable/crawled through search engines.

Which search engines you have PAID to use, thats been good or even ones you found free?

Have you listed in any directories that you think has been worthwhile? and which ones?

Have you tried contacting sites that sell similar items and come up with a joint plan to each have a link to one anothers site??

Hi i have submitted my oscommerce store www.phillip-cooper.co.uk to google and froogle, soon to be listing it on kelkoo, and will register it with yahoo.

the site sells games/Gadgets/Linux, i have not realy customized it that much tho i have added Nochex APC and Purchase without account etc .... i might do later but as its only just starting out thought i would leave it as it is .. IE if its not broke dont fix it.. lol

Anyone else, please post here as well would be nice to see where other people list oscommerce stores etc

Sorry too sound rude but as wendy has said this topic and been said and done quite a few times, do a search here for seo, google, yahoo, msn and ranking and you should come across loads to read and some great advice.

Again not being rude but people get a little feed up repeating them selfs.

yahoo directory ( listed 6weeks so no real hits yet)
Dmoz.com free but a very good directory for Google points ( sometime a long wait )

rommany what is 'center site', i couldnt find anything called that in the contribution section.

Also can you list the other 10 - 15 contributions you have used.
