Okay I have now solved this issue, and can now run oscommerce on a server running register_globals off
If anyone else has this problem with oscommerce, or has a session error message as a result of a server running safe mode on, then let me know, as I also have the solution for this

the on fire one doesn't seem to have the following file referenced either.

On the green balls. I couldn't find the file referenced in step 6 of the readme file, as being included in the zip file. The index.php file from the includes/languages/english
