UncleSteve
I've just loaded this contrib. and it works well. Customers can sign-up fill out the new 'how did you find us' bits, so basically pleased. Howver... When I try to view the contents of a category, I get this message 1146 - Table 'myname_osc1.Catalogue' doesn't exist select category_description from Catalogue description where categories_id = '42' [TEP STOP] The catalogue does exist as its all viewable/editable in admin. On the front page I can click on a new product and view all its details and purchase it. Its just the category I'm having problems with :( Any ideas on where to look or make good please? Thanks in advance. insomniac2
That error is in no way relates to the heard about us mod. If you installed the heard about us mod ... you must have accidentally removed or altered some code having to do with I am guessing ... one of the Categories Description Mods. Did you by chance install a mod for Categories Descriptions?
UncleSteve
That error is in no way relates to the heard about us mod. If you installed the heard about us mod ... you must have accidentally removed or altered some code having to do with I am guessing ... one of the Categories Description Mods. Did you by chance install a mod for Categories Descriptions? Hi, I do have a contrib for cat descriptions, however I've been using that for several months. Since then, there hasn't been any other mods until I add the 'How did you hear about us' mod yesterday. Looks like I'll have to start reloading my back-up files one by one to see which one sorts out the error. Unless someone else has any ideas please? insomniac2
Ya and try it a few times. I have done that. Sometimes it takes a few go's at it before it kicks in .. or u realize you missed one small step etc.
UncleSteve
Is it just me having problems posting on this forum since the layout has been changed? Shame its not possible to post on the Lo-fi version Anyway.... Ya and try it a few times. I have done that. Sometimes it takes a few go's at it before it kicks in .. or u realize you missed one small step etc. Well I've gone two steps back and removed this contrib. and the previous one which was showing errors. I've reloaded a different version of the previous contrib. I've now reloaded this contrib. and now get an error on the create_account.php page which says1146 - Table 'myname_osc1.TABLE_SOURCES' doesn't exist select sources_id, sources_name from TABLE_SOURCES order by sources_name [TEP STOP] The error message is not true, as I can view the list of erreral sources (Google, AOL etc.) and the list of where the customers were referred from. Any ideas over why I'm getting the error please? mthierfelder
Can anyone help with getting the menu selection to be required? I have it set in Admin --> required=yes but I do not get a required error message if I leave it as default on the create_account.php file. I've tried inserting this code: if (strrev($source) == '999') { $error = true; $messageStack->add('create_account',ENTRY_SOURCE_ERROR); } But that doesn't seem to do anything... This is supposed to be a function when you install it out of the box right? I can't get it to work, any ideas would be gladly entertained. sam06
I just installed the contribution with the text box only option. It seems to be working great but the box alignment is off. There is a big gap between "How did you hear about us?" and the text box as seen at https://www.absolute-designs.biz/catalog/cr...2c8426c69ec4d6e It has then pushed the password boxes out of alignment also. How can I fix this? Thanks. Samantha
IVMark
Hi all. I'm new to this forum and have a question about v1.6 In the readme it says: "* Updated backend reporting to include more useful data such as referral dates." Does anyone know if the reporting section has been updated to reflect this change. I'd love to be able to get referral data for a specific time period. Is this available? Is anyone working on it? Thanks, Mark.

Dmacman
Hi All, I have this installed and working great with the 'Other' option, but I have a question, I cant seem to resolve. I need to control the order of the options, and order by ID or by name will not do it. As a temp fix I put the number (of the position I want it to be) in front of the names. IE 1. Google 2. ABC 3. Yahoo etc. If this was a procedural coding, I could just find the SQL query and change it, but I have not been able to totally 'wrap my brain' around osC yet. Thanks for the help in advance, Don
NedFlandersUSA
Has anyone added the ability to edit their original answer once they've already registered? I'd like my customers to be able to view/edit their "referral" on their edit customer screen. (i.e. account_edit.php) And, it would be nice if it appeared in the invoice. I already modded it so the referral appears in the email notification. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Ned

janetgot
Hello, I have installed How Did You Hear About Us 1.6 into a fairly heavily modified shop that also has Purchase Without Account installed... If I choose to checkout without creating an account, I don't get the dropdown field, however, if I continue to the next page, I get an error stating I need to fill in this field (which doesn't show). I've looked through this forum for a workaround, but the only information I found was very old and no longer applicable as the file mentioned is no longer included in the base installation. Has anybody gotten this to work with Purchase Without Account, and/or was there an alternative contribution that resolved this issue? Many thanks, Janet

jeeperss98
Love this mod!! but I have a problem with my customers information since this mod has been installed. I get the error below at the top of the admin/customers.php page when I click to view a customer. Also when I look at their order page it is missing the customer name, email address, and some other things that I have checked are in the database. The other thing to comment on that is a problem is that the customer information is all blank on the /admin/customers.php. If I try to edit the information on that page by adding everything back in there it still does no good. The error is this: Warning: reset(): Passed variable is not an array or object in /html/admin/includes/classes/object_info.php on line 10 Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in /html/admin/includes/classes/object_info.php on line 11 Again this problem is only since adding this mod and even if I go back to a backup of my entire site except the db the admin/customers.php page still exhibits the same issue. My next option is to go back and try a complete install of this mod from a scratch site and then on my live site and see if it works. Please please help??? wondernet
Got the 1.5 full version working first time, not a problem. Has anyone managed to get this working on the 'Purchase Without Account' as well .. while the basic 'how did you hear' works on the page where they register, the 'purchase without account' doesn't use the 'create account' page, rather the 'order-info.php' I'm sure others would like this as well, anyone able to help?
